Names That Hurt

Many names I’ve been called
Some deserved, some I’ve won
And according to the situation
Been labeled by what I’ve done

Some of them hurt and are demeaning
Meant to embarrass and ridicule
Others were given to me in haste
To accuse and call me a fool

They say names don’t hurt you
I can tell them they’re wrong
It crushes your spirit, makes you cry
Causes you to feel you don’t belong

Bad always overshadows the good
And that is on what you dwell
Sometimes it gets to the point
Where you’re in a living hell

Be careful what you call someone
When you intentionally want to hurt
You could be on the receiving end
So, be careful what you blurt!
