A Good Book

Is there anything more satisfying
than the feel of a very good book?
To appreciate the craftsmanship
And all of the labor that it took

To feel the crispness of the page
The faint aroma of the finest leather
And enjoy the many illustrations
As it makes the tome much better

Now first editions are such a joy
And are a beauty to behold
Depending on the subject matter
Some are worth the purest gold

I find myself intrigued with books
When I read I lose track of time
Fiction, mysteries, or history
And sometimes things that rhyme

For me, the world would be dull
If there were no books to read
So I thank the Lord for authors
Who can satisfy all of my needs
