Home - A Magical Word

Home, such a magical word
Of which cliches, there are many
From the mundane to the astute
Memories, there can be plenty

“There’s no place like home”
Is one that comes to mind
No truer words have been spoken
Of this, I’m sure you’ll find

“I’ll be home for Christmas”
Often said with true intent
Sharing holidays with your family
As new memories you invent

“Home is where the heart is”
A place where you always return
A safe haven in a crazy world
Where home’s true meaning is learned

“Make yourself at home”
Where the rigors of life disappear
Where you can be yourself
Have absolutely nothing to fear

“Keep the home fires burning”
A place of warmth and love
Where the presence of the Holy Spirit
Has come down from above

And then “Home Sweet Home”
The most important of them all
To feel the love that’s there
And to hearken to God’s call
